St. Stanislaus has 2 music ministry groups. The Adult Choir that sings on Saturday evening at the 5 pm Mass and at the 9 am Mass on the 1, 2 and 4th Sunday’s each month. And the Youth Singers Choir, who sing at the 9 am Mass on the third Sunday of each month, Sept-May.
Adult Choir – is dedicated to making the music of the Mass an enjoyable audio petition for God to reveal himself to his people. We believe the choir is a central element in providing a means for the people to participate in all elements of the Eucharistic celebration. By integrating all parts of the Mass, but particularly: the liturgy of the word, the liturgy of the Eucharist, and the Communion rite through song we hope to help the congregation become and remain conscious of themselves as a worshiping community throughout the celebration. The adult choir rehearses every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Please contact Sheila Hardison for more information at: 910.799.2033.
Youth Singers – is comprised of 7-12 grade youth of the parish. This dedicated group, newly formed this year, shares their talent of music and song with the parish on the second Sunday of each month at the 9 am Mass. We are using the contemporary Catholic Christian Spirit and Song book for our music selection which is especially written for teenage and college age groups and has been approved by our Diocese for use with our group. The goal of the Youth Singers is to enrich and enhance their faith and love in Christ through music as it applies to our Catholic litergy.
The Youth Singers practice on the second Sunday of each month immediately after the 9 am Mass for an hour and a half. The group sings at the 9 am Mass on the third Sunday of each month Sept-May. All youth, ages 12-18, of the parish, with singing and musical instrument talent, are welcome to join us to make a joyful noise for the Lord!
