Greeting people at the Church door is a beautiful way to begin the ministry of hospitality. We all want to feel at home, having someone meet us, smile at us, reach out a hand and say a word of welcome. This usually puts us at ease and makes us feel a special part of the congregation. We feel we belong.
The act of showing hospitality is described throughout the bible. As Roman Catholic Christians we’ve heard stories of people who offered hospitality to beggars, strangers, children, and lepers – only to discover that the person they welcomed so warmly was the Lord!
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.” We are all children of God and I invite you to help share this gift with others. Please consider joining our Greeters Ministry.
