St. Stanislaus offers Faith Formation to the children of our Parish in grades Pre-K thru 9th grade. Our classes for all grades meet September through May on Sundays in the Parish Hall from 10:30 AM to 12 noon. The Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist are offered to our 2nd grade students,Students must have one full year of religious education prior to receiving the sacraments.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered to our 9th grade students. Students are required to attend our 2-year program for candidates. (8th and 9th grades). We have a wonderful teaching staff. All our teachers have assistants, some of whom are previous students. We’re very proud of this. We try to keep the students who have received Confirmation involved in this program and in other ministries in the Church. We ask them to become greeters, readers, ushers, Extraordinary Ministers and choir members.
We have a contest during Lent called “The Chain of Hope”. The children bring in nonperishable food. They receive a paper “chain” representing a monetary value for their donation. Each class has a different color chain. The class with the most links is the winner. All items are donated to Helping Hands and distributed to families in need.
On the 3rd Sunday of the month, during the months of September thru May, the students will participate in our Children’s Mass. The students will serve as greeters, readers, ushers and sing in our Youth Choir during Mass. We believe it’s important to have the children participate physically and spiritually at Mass. Also, this prepares them to volunteer for these duties after Confirmation when Faith Formation officially ends.
